Jim Lowe is a writer, producer, mixer and Grammy Award winning engineer. He has been part of musical milestones from Stereophonics, The Charlatans and Herbie Hancock. Based in Shepherds Bush, his credits speak for themselves. Jim is also a multi-instrumentalist and plays bass, guitar and keys. He is also an avid enthusiast of electronic styles in music and likes to work with his vast range of synthesisers.
Training extensively at Nomis Studios, West London, Jim's path eventually crossed with Stereophonics. He went on to produce and mix their #1 albums 'You Gotta Go There to Come Back', 'Language.Sex.Violence.Other?' and 'Pull the Pin' - which collectively spawned 10 Top 20 hit singles including 'Madame Helga' and 'Maybe Tomorrow' and the UK #1 single 'Dakota'. The relationship with Kelly Jones and the band blossomed and saw Jim go on to produce extensively for the band and worked on their latest album'Graffiti on the Train' which spawned three A-list singles at Radio 2 including the title-track, 'We Share the Same Sun' and 'Indian Summer'. He also worked with Herbie Hancock, for which he won a Grammy award for the song 'Imagine', which featured artists such as Seal, India.Arie, P!nk and John Legend. He has also mixed projects for The Foo Fighters, Manic Street Preachers, Amy MacDonald and Taylor Swift.
Additional engineering credits include Beyonce, Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, The Who, Mark Knopfler, Womack & Womack, Nick Cave, Emmy Lou Harris, Skunk Anansie, Jamiroquai, Arthur Brown, Christopher Lee (Actor), P.P.Arnold and Steve Howe.
His skills in the studio cross genres; his real strength is not only recording live bands, but also programming and working to produce intricate soundscapes and arrangements. Jim is able to produce recordings and mixes that stay true to the music.
