Marrik Shearer is a very talented mixer, masterer and engineer from Glasgow. Marrik's recent successes include mixing the top 3 debut album from MoStack, "Stacko" and hit singles "Shine Girl" featuring Stormzy, "Stinking Rich" featuring J Hus & Dave and "Wild". Marrik also mixed the debut breakthrough album from Nines, "One Foot Out", which peaked inside the top 5 of the UK albums chart.
Other recent credits for 2019 include Digga D & Russ (Splash) (Virgin EMI), Not3s & Knucks (Island), T Mulla (Lost Ones/Universal), Jevon (Capitol), House Of Pharoahs (Parlophone) and Dolapo (Virgin EMI) to name but a few.
Marrik first made a name for himself in the Scottish hip-hop scene, building studios from the age of 19 and working with the likes of Hudson Mohawke, Rustie and S-Type. Subsequently, he moved to London where he joined Metropolis Studios working under Tom Elmhurst and Cenzo Townshend assisting them on projects such as Mark Ronson, Maverick Sabre, Ms. Dynamite, LMFAO, K Koke and Tom Nichols/Juicy Music.
Marrik left Metropolis to set up his own studio in South Tottenham, where he is proud to have worked with some of the UK's top artists and producers including Stormzy, J Hus, Dave, Aitch, Jevon, Ray BLK, Ghetts, MNEK, Stefflon Don, Tiggs Da Author, Amplify Dot, Show N Prove and many more.
Marrik describes his mixes as clean and punchy. He feels one of his core strengths is how to sit vocals in a track. Marrik likes wide mixes with an emphasis on low end and vocals.
Marrik is based in his own studio, The Front Room Studios, Tottenham, North London.
