Craigie Dodds is an award winning,
multi-platinum selling writer, producer, mixer and beat-maker. He
has an extensive profile in the music world, both in the UK and
further afield. Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne but growing up in
Malawi, he has been heavily influenced by both African and Indie
Pop. Recently he's been working on several film scores in his joint
venture with Nu Boyana & Millenium Films. Last year saw Dodds
writing in America with Finneas O'Connell
(Producer & Co-writer for Billie
Eilish) as well as developing
& producing several new projects with the likes of
Maeve, Ok Button
and Est-Her.
Known for his idiosyncratic production techniques,
Craigie's skills lie in thoughtful, deep and powerful musical
soundscapes with great lyrics. He is equally happy Injecting new
ideas into established acts or helping to shape new up coming
artists. It is difficult to pigeonhole his sound, but the melody;
lyrics and the beats are key. Craigie has recently been working on
material for Ed Sheeran, Tokio Myers, Clean Bandit, Alex
Hepburn, Est-Her, One Eskimo, OK Button, Nitin
Sawhney, Ego Munk, J'Danna, Xaviour, Kyo,
Laky, Yazmin Lacey and
Respons.
As well as scoring for several films Craigie's songs have also
been featured on a number of television shows, films and adverts
including Friends, Bridget Jones 'The Edge Of Reason',
Mandela Redrawn, award winning documentary Miracle Rising, Shaun
The Sheep, Grey's Anantomy, Modigliani, The O.C., Levi Jeans, Rolls
Royce, Toyota Prius and Galaxy.
Craigie initially found fame with the African music inspired
group Egyptian Nursery, who scored three #1
singles and a #1 album. On winning South African Music
Producer of the Year Award for his bands album "New
Anthem", he realised he was a studio rat, more producer than
performer, retreating in the studio.
Craigie has a new studio
set up at Nu Boyana Studios, Battersea.
